Hey Everyone! Happy Holidays and welcome back to the PowerVision Blog.
With 2018 coming to a close its time to start thinking about what destinations in 2019 you're looking to explore! I have compiled a list of the top 5 destinations to take a PowerRay.
This list of places are all destinations I have been to and used a PowerRay. The content I have created at these places has been absolutely stunning. From the beautiful blue waters of Lake Tahoe to the vibrant underwater reefs in Kauai, here are my Top 5 locations that you might want to consider if you're looking to capture amazing content on vacation!
#1 Cancun Mexico MUSA Underwater Museum
In 2009 a monumental underwater contemporary museum of art called MUSA (Museo Subacuático de Arte) was formed in the waters surrounding Cancun, Isla Mujeres, and Punta Nizuc.
I had the honor of traveling to this beautiful location with the PowerRay. I went on a trip with 3 Youtube influencers to this beautiful place and the results are here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWvSw-HUksI&t=11s
If you get the chance to visit this location you will see all the amazing statues and marine life that habitats this area. The waters a balmy 82 degrees and the air was about the same temp. If you're not into diving the PowerRay can do everything for you as you sit on the boat exploring with family and friends.
#2 Lake Tahoe California
With this location being only about 3 1/2 hours from PowerVision's US headquarters Lake Tahoe has become PowerVisions testing and adventure location for all of our products.
This year we partnered with the State Parks Of California and Zoom to open the Lake Tahoe maritime museum via live feed on facebook and at the annual Zoomtopia conference. You can check out the full story in our blog post "Can You live stream with a PowerRay in Lake Tahoe"
The lake is huge and there are tons of areas to explore. Some of my favorite locations are Emerald Bay where you can explore sunken vessels and barges, Secret Beach with all of its amazing clear underwater views, and finally Sand Harbor to check out the fish that live next to the rocks.
#3 Kauai Hawaii
Out of all the Hawaiian islands, Kauai to me is the most beautiful above and below the water surface. The PowerRay agreed to! We took the PowerRay to Kauai in December of 2017 to film for the CES tradeshow and what we got was absolutely stunning content.
If you're going to travel there for some adventures I highly suggest that you take the PowerRay to the outer reefs outside of Port Allen. That's where the photo above was taken of this beautiful male turtle. If your not a fan of boats then launching the PowerRay in front of PK's reef in Poipu is a great option.
Kauai has a little bit of everything for everyone. The entire island is an adventure in itself. On the north shore, you have the Napali coast and in the spring and summer months, its one of the most beautiful locations in the world. The PowerRay would be the perfect partner to explore it with!
#4 La Jolla San Diego California
La Jolla Cove is one of the most beautiful places on the California coastline. We recently took the PowerRay to the reefs that are just feet off the shoreline. There is so much sea life activity in this area its hard not to capture amazing content.
The La Jolla coastline runs about 5 miles starting at Torrey Pines and ending right before the popular summer beach destination of Pacific Beach. In that area, you can find so many great locations to explore with the PowerRay. There is an abundance of offshore reefs with sea life ranging from leopard sharks, sea turtles, and the ever so friendly Sea Lions.
If you get a chance this year to visit La Jolla make sure you have your PowerRay and some sunscreen cause it's always sunny and warm in beautiful San Diego.
#5 Santa Catalina Island California
Two Harbors at the Isthmus of Santa Catalina Island is ideally located to offer easy access to some of the world’s best underwater adventures. Voted “World’s Healthiest Marine Environment” by Scuba Diving Magazine, the water is clear and clean, with visibility ranging from 40-100 feet. Water temperatures vary from 55 in the winter and a comfortable 72 degrees plus in the summer months.
The deep rich kelp forests that sit right off the coastline are easily accessible from both a boat or from the shore. The sea life here is quite amazing with hundreds of species of fish and mammals.
The island offers a ton of things to do and a great arrangement of restaurants to eat at, but it all comes down to what lies below the surface that is the reason I will continue to visit! The boat ride from Long Beach is 45 minutes and when you get to the island you feel like your in paradise.
So that's my top 5 places to visit with a PowerRay. I suggest if you are an owner of a PowerRay you start planning to visit one or all of these places, I promise you will not be disappointed! So until next time, PowerVision would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and we urge you to get out and explore!
Cheers,
Craig :)

Hi,
I am traveling to Thailand next March and would love to try this.
I just paid a lot of cash for my Powerray Wizard. I need to buy the vertical thruster and also both right and left forward thrusters. Might as well change all 3 when I pull it apart. I don’t understand why you folks are not trying at least to help me get the parts. I don’t care about your warranty there is none anyway. It only has 30 minutes or less diving and this has cost me $1800.00 U.S. dollars. Please help. koors675 or call me. This is not good for sales.
The airlines are very strict in regards to drones of any type or design. Since the battery cannot be removed what are the options. Will it make it through customs?
In need of 2 motors repaired or replaced, can this be done in the states? If I order the motors can I replace them?
Yes, we do have a new accessory that covers the props for protection from weeds, rocks, etc. This accessory will be available soon. Craig
